Philadelphia Police Department officials have identified the officer who tragically died after being found unresponsive in her patrol car on Friday night. The fallen officer has been identified as 44-year-old Lynneice Hill, a 24-year veteran of the department.

President John McNesby with the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police released a statement expressing their sorrow over Hill’s sudden passing. She was quickly rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. Officials believe that Hill suffered a medical emergency while on duty, although further details have not been released.

Hill was assigned to the 3rd District as a school officer and was a mother of three. She was married to fellow officer Dennis Smith, and her death has left the community in shock. Friends and loved ones remember Hill as a dedicated officer who was always willing to help others.
