In a tragic incident, a man lost his life in a crash that occurred in Liberty Township, Ohio on Sunday morning, according to the Wood County sheriff’s office. The accident took place on Rudolph Road near Powell Road at around 7:30 a.m.
The sheriff’s office reported that a 2005 Buick LaCrosse attempted to overtake a vehicle traveling southbound, while a pickup truck was approaching from the opposite direction. In an attempt to avoid a collision, both vehicles maneuvered, but unfortunately, the LaCrosse slid, resulting in the truck hitting it on the passenger side.
The driver of the LaCrosse, identified as Austin A. Ogg, a 22-year-old resident of Cygnet, Ohio, tragically lost his life at the scene. The passenger, a 20-year-old individual, was critically injured and immediately rushed to the hospital. Authorities mentioned that neither of them was wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene before being released.
