In a tragic incident in Ansonia, police are on the hunt for two cars connected to a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday. The Ansonia Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired and a person shot on Hodge Avenue around 1:40 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in the driveway of a home on Hodge Avenue. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Abduljalil Humphrey of Ansonia, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately taken to Griffin Hospital but was pronounced dead.

The police have identified two vehicles linked to the shooting and are actively trying to locate them. The first car is a black 2019 Hyundai Elantra with Connecticut registration BK 30761, which belonged to the victim. After the incident, it was reported stolen from the scene. The second car is a stolen red 2018 Chevrolet Malibu Premier with Connecticut registration BD 24248. The suspect was driving this vehicle before the shooting, and it was occupied by at least one other person who fled the scene in it.

Ansonia police have warned the public not to approach either car if spotted, and instead, contact their local police department.
