A tragic incident unfolded in a Damascus home on Wednesday night, resulting in the deaths of a 34-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy in what authorities believe to be a murder-suicide. The man, identified as Rickoshay Allen Kerr, is suspected of violating a restraining order against him when he forcefully entered the home. Prior to that, he rammed through a closed gate, causing damage and alerting neighbors who promptly called 911.

Authorities responded swiftly, with deputies arriving at the scene within minutes. As they approached the home, they encountered a car speeding towards them. Fearing for their safety, they fired at the vehicle, shooting out two of its tires. It was later revealed that the driver was a concerned family member and no one was injured in the incident.

Deputies entered the house to find Kerr and the young boy dead from gunshot wounds. The motive behind the tragic event remains unclear, and authorities have not disclosed the relationship between Kerr and the boy.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with the Clackamas County Interagency Major Crimes Team and the county district attorney’s office working in conjunction with the sheriff’s office. The community is left in shock and mourning as they try to make sense of this heartbreaking event.

Kerr’s troubled past includes a conviction for failing to report as a sex offender in 2016, for which he received a two-year probation sentence. However, the specifics of the crime were not disclosed in court records.

As the community grapples with this tragedy, support and resources are being made available to those affected. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues and ensuring the well-being of individuals within our communities..
