“Arrest Warrant Issued in Fatal Plymouth Shooting of Robert Aponte-Flores”

An arrest warrant has been issued for 20-year-old John Geovanni Pires Monteiro Macedo in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Plymouth on Wednesday. The shooting resulted in the death of 25-year-old Robert Aponte-Flores from New Bedford. The warrant was issued by the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office after investigators interviewed multiple witnesses to the shooting and the fight that preceded it near Fearing Pond in the Myles Standish State Forest.

According to Plymouth police, someone was initially taken into custody by the State Police but was later determined not to be the shooter. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The shooting took place around 2:30 p.m. on July 12, and Aponte-Flores was shot multiple times. He was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene described the harrowing experience, with one woman named Nicole recounting how she came upon the scene and saw CPR being performed on Aponte-Flores. She joined in the efforts to revive him before he was taken to the hospital. Nicole expressed her condolences to the victim’s family and described the incident as the scariest thing she had ever experienced.

State Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting near Fearing Pond Road in Myles Standish State Forest. As the search for the suspect continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring justice to the victim and his family..
