An Indianapolis man has been arrested and charged with murder following a deadly robbery that took place last summer. Jerry Poge, a 20-year-old resident of Indy, was charged on Monday with felony murder and robbery after an ongoing investigation linked him to the shooting of 41-year-old Ervin Crabtree.
The incident occurred on June 17, 2022, when the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a call about a person shot on Stuart Street in the city’s near northeast side. Crabtree was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later that morning. Thankfully, a child who was also present in the house at the time was unharmed.

Detectives working on the case identified Poge as a possible suspect for the shooting, leading to his arrest. At the time of his arrest, Poge was already in police custody for an unrelated incident.
