An 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a 65-year-old homeless man in a Mission Beach park in San Diego, according to police reports. The victim, identified as Michael Shook, was found severely injured at Bonita Cove Park on Wednesday morning and later died from his wounds.

Police investigations revealed that Shook had been involved in a fight with a group of five or six individuals in their late teens or early 20s. He was beaten and stabbed, sustaining injuries to his face and upper body. On Friday night, Daniel Martin was apprehended during a traffic stop on Sea World Drive and booked on suspicion of murder. The younger suspect, whose name was not released due to being a minor, surrendered himself at San Diego police headquarters on Sunday afternoon and was also charged with murder.

Lieutenant Steve Shebloski stated that detectives had interviewed witnesses, collected evidence, and reviewed surveillance footage from the area surrounding the incident. However, limited details have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward and provide assistance to the investigation. They can contact the San Diego police detectives at (619) 531-2293 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
