On Wednesday morning, tragedy struck in Crisp County, Georgia, when a sheriff’s deputy was fatally shot during a traffic stop. The deputy, identified as Tyee Brown, 26, of Macon County, was taken to a local hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The suspect, Croshawn Cross, 25, of Unadilla, fled the scene of the shooting but was later apprehended by Monroe County sheriff’s deputies after a high-speed chase on Interstate 475.
