Bob Moore, one of the co-founders of Bob’s Red Mill, the renowned whole-grain foods manufacturer, has passed away at the age of 94.

The company, based in Milwaukie, Oregon, announced that Moore peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday. Established in 1978, Bob’s Red Mill started as a local business serving the Portland area. However, it quickly flourished into a global corporation that now distributes more than 200 products, including cereals, flours, and beans, in over 70 countries worldwide, from Canada to China to Australia.

In 2010, Moore and his late wife Charlee, who was also a co-founder of the company, established an employee stock ownership plan. Through this plan, they transferred full ownership of the company to its dedicated employees. Today, Bob’s Red Mill is proud to be 100% employee-owned, with a workforce of over 700 individuals, as stated in the company’s press release.

Apart from their remarkable business achievements, Bob and Charlee Moore made substantial financial contributions to various Oregon universities over the past decade. Their generous donations helped fund research centers focused on food and nutrition studies at Oregon State University and Oregon Health & Science University.
