In a devastating incident on Friday afternoon, a small jet crashed on I-75 in Collier County, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of Pilot Edward Daniel Murphy, 50, from Oakland Park, and second in command Ian Frederick Hofmann, 65, from Pompano Beach.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has identified the survivors of the crash as crew member Sydney Ann Bosmans, 27, from Jupiter, along with passengers Aaron Baker, 35, from Ohio, and Audra Green, 23, also from Ohio. All survivors were immediately transported to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for their injuries.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., a Bombardier Challenger 600 business jet carrying five people experienced a catastrophic crash on I-75 near Naples. According to initial reports from the National Transportation Safety Board, the pilot reported a dual engine failure while in close proximity to the Naples Airport.
