WORCESTER — Worcester Police have made two arrests in relation to a series of paintball attacks on pedestrians, according to official reports.

The incidents occurred on February 9th and involved a grey Honda Civic, from which an unidentified male fired paintballs at unsuspecting individuals on the street.

Multiple victims have come forward, describing the terrifying experience of being shot at by the occupants of the vehicle. Physical evidence in the form of paint splatters was also observed on the victims.

Following the reports, a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert was promptly issued for the grey Honda Civic. Detailed descriptions provided by the victims assisted law enforcement in their search for the suspects.

On February 10th, at approximately 12:05 a.m., an attentive Worcester Police officer on After Hours patrol spotted the suspected Honda Civic speeding from Pleasant to Hudson St. Acting swiftly, the officer initiated a pursuit of the vehicle and successfully confirmed that the license plate matched the one associated with the previous day’s paintball attacks.

The officer skillfully executed a stop on Townsend St., prompting the vehicle to come to a halt. However, one of the suspects attempted to evade capture by fleeing on foot towards Pleasant St. The pursuing officer displayed exceptional agility and managed to apprehend the 16-year-old male suspect.

Identified as a minor, the teenager was taken into custody without further incident. Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda Civic, 19-year-old David Asemani of Standish St., was found to have a suspended license and was promptly arrested at the scene.

During a thorough search of the vehicle, law enforcement discovered and seized a paintball gun, which is believed to have been used in the series of attacks.

As a result of their actions, both individuals are now facing multiple charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The Worcester Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community, swiftly bringing those responsible for such acts of violence to justice.
