Bob Moore, Founder of Bob’s Red Mill, Passes Away at 94
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Bob Moore, the visionary founder of the renowned food brand Bob’s Red Mill, passed away on Saturday at his home, according to officials associated with the company. He was 94.
Bob Moore’s journey began in 1978 when he followed his passion for healthy foods and milling whole grains to establish Bob’s Red Mill in Milwaukie, Oregon. What started as a local venture soon transformed into a global food brand, with over 200 products available in more than 70 countries.
At the age of 81, Bob Moore demonstrated his commitment to the company and its employees by implementing an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, making more than 700 individuals co-owners of Bob’s Red Mill.
A Lasting Legacy
Even after his passing, Bob Moore’s influence and legacy continue to resonate within the company. Bob’s Red Mill CEO Trey Winthrop expressed his gratitude, stating, “Bob’s legacy will live on forever in all of us who had the opportunity to work with him and is infused into the Bob’s Red Mill brand.”
