MENDON — Vermont State Police apprehended a Killington resident late on Thursday night, charging him with driving under the influence on US Route 4.

Responding to reports of an erratic driver in the vicinity, troopers from the Rutland barracks swiftly arrived at the scene at approximately 9:34 p.m.

The vehicle in question was located within Killington, and the driver was identified as 59-year-old Glenn Burres.

During the traffic stop, Burres displayed clear signs of alcohol impairment, leading to his subsequent arrest on DUI charges.

Law enforcement officers then transported him to the Rutland State Police Barracks for processing.

Following the arrest, Burres was released with a citation, mandating his appearance before the Rutland Superior Court Criminal Division on a later scheduled date, where he will face the DUI charge.
