HOST: Providing Assistance and Maintaining Order

Over the course of the week, the Homeless Outreach Street Team (HOST) made a commendable total of 87 meaningful contacts with individuals in need within the community. During these interactions, HOST diligently offered a wide range of services and support to the individuals encountered.

Regrettably, despite the team’s sincere efforts, none of the individuals they assisted were willing to accept the offered services. Nonetheless, this did not deter the dedicated members of HOST from persisting in their mission to make a positive impact on the lives of those experiencing homelessness.

In addition to their outreach efforts, HOST also identified and tagged eight camps within the community. This proactive measure aims to facilitate future interventions and ensure the safety and well-being of both the homeless individuals and the wider community.

Furthermore, HOST remained committed to upholding the cleanliness and tidiness of the community by undertaking four thorough clean-up operations. These endeavors served to enhance the overall aesthetics of the area, benefiting both residents and visitors alike.

As part of their ongoing commitment to public safety, HOST conducted ten dedicated downtown patrols throughout the week. These patrols not only serve as a deterrent to potential criminal activities but also provide a reassuring presence for the community, fostering a sense of security and well-being.
