LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — In a devastating incident early Saturday morning, a fatal collision in the east Las Vegas valley has resulted in the untimely deaths of a teenager and a 60-year-old man. The accident occurred at approximately 4:10 a.m. at the intersection of North Lamb Boulevard and East Bonanza Road, prompting a swift response from the local authorities.
Based on the evidence gathered at the scene, it was revealed that a Chevrolet Silverado was travelling northbound on Lamb Boulevard at an excessive speed, blatantly disregarding a solid red light. Simultaneously, a Toyota Scion was entering the intersection with a green light. Tragically, the Chevrolet violently collided with the passenger side of the Toyota, leading to the ejection of both drivers from their respective vehicles, as confirmed by the police.
Regrettably, the driver of the Toyota, a 60-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash site. Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevrolet, a 17-year-old boy, was urgently transported to a local hospital, but sadly, his condition deteriorated, and he was later pronounced deceased.
With this heart-wrenching accident, the local community mourns the loss of two more lives. The deaths of the 60-year-old man and the 17-year-old boy mark the 22nd and 23rd traffic-related fatalities within the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) for the year 2024.
