FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – In a shocking incident of road rage, a man from metro Atlanta allegedly brandished a firearm when another driver overtook him on the interstate. The Flowery Branch police are investigating the incident, which took place last week and has left locals concerned about the escalating aggression on the roads.

According to the victim’s account, he was traveling southbound on I-985 when he passed a white pickup truck. Infuriated by the perceived act of overtaking, the truck driver began tailgating the victim aggressively, creating a dangerous situation on the road.

As the victim exited the interstate onto Phil Niekro Blvd. and pulled into a gas station parking lot, the enraged driver followed him. The situation quickly escalated when the driver, later identified as 30-year-old Preston Sweatman from Buford, pulled out a firearm and threatened to kill the victim before hastily fleeing the scene.

Flowery Branch police, determined to bring justice, promptly obtained video footage from the area to gather evidence. After careful analysis, investigators secured arrest warrants charging Sweatman with aggravated assault.

On February 7, Sweatman was taken into custody by the authorities. However, he has since been released from the Hall County Jail, as reported by jail records.
