The body will be taken to the Odisha assembly premises before being transported to Khalikote in Ganjam district, where the funeral will be conducted according to the royal tradition at the family crematorium.

Born in Chennai, Deo married the late Purna Chandra Mardaraj Deo, the erstwhile royal scion of Khallikote. She was also the daughter-in-law of Raja Ramchandra Mardaraj Deo, who played a significant role in the formation of a separate Odisha state based on linguistic basis on April 1, 1936.
