Dutchess County resident Jennifer J. Strang-Thrasher, a beloved member of the community, sadly passed away on Sunday, February 4. Jennifer, who resided in Wassaic, breathed her last at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. She was a cherished individual known for her warm heart and kind soul.
Jennifer J. Strang-Thrasher was born in Connecticut, in the town of Sharon, which is located in Litchfield County. She completed her education at Dover High School and Dutchess Community College, where she excelled both academically and personally.
For over three decades, Jennifer dedicated her life to serving others as a direct care worker at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook. Her commitment to the well-being and happiness of those she cared for was unparalleled. Her dedication and compassion will be remembered by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
Jennifer is survived by her loving mother, Boonie (Coons) Strang, who resides in Wassaic, as well as her devoted husband, Daryl Thrasher, who resides in Poughkeepsie. She also leaves behind three sons, Andrew Thrasher of Palm Harbor, Florida, LeShawn Thrasher of Rochester, and Teyvon Thrasher of Wassaic. Furthermore, Jennifer is survived by her dear aunt, Pamela Rabideau of Dover Plains, and a multitude of friends who will cherish her memory forever.
The community is invited to pay their respects during the calling hours, which will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, February 12, at the Hufcut Funeral Home. The funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. R. Kent Wilson officiating. This will be an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together and honor Jennifer’s life while finding solace in one another’s support.
