Over the course of her career, which spanned from 1971 to 2005, she released an impressive 18 studio albums. One of her most notable albums, “Don’t Break the Heart That Loves You,” was released in 1978 and featured chart-topping hits like “Don’t Break the Heart That Loves You,” “It Only Hurts for a Little While,” and “Little Things Mean a Lot.”

Smith’s talent and dedication to her craft led her to share the stage with some of the biggest names in country music. She had the privilege of touring with legendary artists such as Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette, Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, and Crystal Gayle, as reported by the Springfield News-Sun.
