Devoted Legal Career

For over 50 years, Mr. McManimon dedicated his life to the practice of law at McManimon, Scotland & Bauman LLC. His primary focus was providing advice to municipalities, counties, school districts, and governmental authorities regarding their capital financing and related governmental requirements.

Mr. McManimon was born in 1946 and raised in Ewing, New Jersey. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1964 and went on to obtain his undergraduate degree in government from Georgetown University in 1968. He then attended Georgetown University Law Center, where he earned his J.D. in 1971.

A Distinguished Career

Mr. McManimon began his legal career as the law secretary for the Honorable George H. Barlow of the U.S. District Court in Trenton. He later became a partner at Kraft & Hughes, eventually leading to the formation of Kraft & McManimon and McManimon & Scotland. These firms ultimately merged to become McManimon, Scotland & Baumann LLC.

Throughout his career, Mr. McManimon played a vital role in the analysis, development, and implementation of financial plans for redevelopment areas across New Jersey. A Life of Service

Mr. McManimon was actively involved in various professional and bar association activities. He was honored by the New Jersey Law Journal as part of its inaugural class of Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, and the New Jersey League of Municipalities bestowed upon him their “Distinguished Public Service Award.”

“Ed’s legacy lives in those who were touched by him. You see, Ed lived to serve — humbly, simply, and purely,” Mr. Baumann said. “Service for Ed began with humility. Despite his obvious talents and achievements, Ed remained ready to assist and serve all of us. No ask was too small, and no task was beneath him. He met us where we were, not the other way around.”

Mr. McManimon’s desire to help others stemmed from his genuine care and belief in their potential. He encouraged and mentored those around him, providing reassurance, advice, and guidance whenever needed.
