In addition to his political endeavors, Mark Woyongo was the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Tamale-based Diamond FM. The radio station provided news and entertainment to the people of the Northern Region, showcasing his commitment to serving his community.

Born on June 9, 1946, in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, Mark Woyongo received his education at Notre Dame Secondary School in Navrongo and the Ghana Institute of Journalism in Accra. Prior to his political career, he worked as a Public Relations Officer, a Regional Information Officer, and a Minister Counselor for Information at the Ghana High Commission in London.

He served as a member of the National Anniversary Planning Committee in 2005 and held the position of Board Chairman of the Irrigation Company of the Upper East Region (ICOUR) in 2010. Additionally, he was a member of the Police Council, the Armed Forces Council, and the National Security Council.
