Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, also known as Aurangabad, was struck by tragedy when a 15-year-old boy lost his life in a terrifying leopard attack. The incident took place within the premises of Anand Maharaj’s ashram, near Bhambarwadi in Kannad tehsil, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The young victim, identified as Rishikesh Vilas Rathod from Bhambarwadi, had accompanied his parents to the ashram for a religious discourse on the fateful night of June 25. It was during this visit that tragedy struck, as Rishikesh ventured outside the ashram and failed to return, sparking a frantic search by his worried parents and villagers.
After an exhaustive search that lasted throughout the night, Rishikesh was tragically discovered the following morning in a ravine near the ashram, his body bearing the unmistakable marks of a leopard attack. Despite desperate attempts to save him, Rishikesh succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the rural hospital in Kannad.
Authorities Respond to the Tragedy
Upon receiving news of the incident, assistant police inspector Dr Ramchandra Pawar and forest department personnel swiftly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. A panchanama was carried out, and the incident was officially registered, shedding light on the devastating loss suffered by Rishikesh’s family and the community at large.
