Accident – Death – Obituary News : Kochi: Tragedy struck a family in Paipra, Muvattupuzha, as a one-and-a-half-year-old boy lost his life in a horrific accident at his home on Monday night. The young child, identified as Abdul Samad of Mulavoor, was playing at his residence near Microppadi on the Muvattupuzha-Perumbavoor route when a fatal mishap occurred.
The incident took place around 9pm on Monday when the toddler, in an attempt to stand up, grabbed hold of a TV stand. Unfortunately, the old TV stand, equipped with wheels, toppled over and fell on the child, trapping him underneath. Despite the presence of his parents, grandparents, and siblings at home, the accident proved to be fatal for the little boy.
Authorities revealed that the family promptly rushed the injured child to a nearby hospital, from where he was later transferred to more advanced medical facilities in Kolenchery, Aluva, and finally a private hospital in the city. However, due to various challenges such as the lack of doctors and available beds in the previous hospitals, the boy’s condition continued to deteriorate.
Tragically, Abdul Samad succumbed to his injuries at around 4am on Tuesday, as confirmed by the official FIR. Following an autopsy, the baby’s body was handed over to his grieving family. Muvattupuzha police have since registered a case of unnatural death in connection with this heartbreaking incident.
