Accident – Death – Obituary News : LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — In a recent development in Limestone County, two individuals were apprehended following a routine traffic stop conducted by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) on Friday, June 21.
Deputies from the LCSO were on patrol in the area, specifically targeting impaired drivers. During their patrol, a deputy observed a suspicious vehicle heading west along Highway 72 near Mooresville Road. The vehicle, which had only one functioning headlight, was eventually stopped after turning south on Mooresville Road.
Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies identified the driver as 57-year-old Jamey Dan Dobbins from Hartselle, who was known to them from previous investigations. The passenger was identified as 25-year-old Alyssa Mary Turner from Athens.
Subsequent to establishing probable cause to search the vehicle, law enforcement officials discovered 1.7 grams of fentanyl along with various drug-related items. Further investigation revealed that Dobbins was allegedly engaging in solicitation of prostitution using drugs and money.
As a result of the findings, Turner was taken into custody for trafficking dangerous drugs (fentanyl) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is currently detained in the Limestone County Jail on a bond set at $51,000.
Dobbins, on the other hand, was arrested for trafficking dangerous drugs (fentanyl), possession of drug paraphernalia, and soliciting prostitution. He is also being held in the Limestone County Jail, with his bond set at $52,000.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Limestone County to combat drug-related activities and uphold public safety. The LCSO remains committed to ensuring the well-being of the community and will continue to take proactive measures to address criminal behaviour.
