Authorities in North Las Vegas have located a suspect in connection with a tragic shooting incident that occurred on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of five individuals and leaving a teenage girl critically injured, according to police reports.
Police were called to an apartment complex on Casa Norte Drive following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered two women, aged in their early 40s and late 50s, who had sustained fatal injuries. Medical personnel pronounced the women dead at the scene.
Further investigation led detectives to another apartment within the complex, where they found a 13-year-old girl who had been wounded in the incident. The child was rushed to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas and is currently in critical condition.
Subsequent searches of the area revealed additional victims – two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s – all of whom had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead on the scene.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office will provide official identification of the deceased individuals, as well as determine the causes and manners of their deaths.
The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Eric Adams, has been located and apprehended by authorities. Police have confirmed that Adams “is no longer a threat to the community.”
As of Tuesday, law enforcement officials have not provided any further details regarding the motive behind the shooting incident.
