Aaron Richard : Teen Covered in Blood Found in Wrecked Truck: Police Investigate

Police in Texas are investigating a traffic incident after discovering an ‘uncooperative’ teenager covered in blood inside a pickup truck.

The authorities found 18-year-old Aaron Richard inside a white 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck while responding to a ‘major accident’ on Interstate 20 in Fort Worth, Texas, early on Monday (24 June).

A statement from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, shared on Facebook, revealed that deputies noticed a significant amount of dried blood on the pickup and the suspect, as well as a large amount of blood along the driver’s side A-frame and the outside of the bed.

The statement also detailed the damage to the vehicle, including noticeable damage to the driver’s side door, tailgate, and front left quarter panel.

When questioned about the blood, Richard was uncooperative, according to the statement. The 18-year-old was driving a 1997 white single cab Chevrolet pickup with Texas license plate DFH2650. The vehicle also had a traffic cone in the bed, blood along the driver’s side A-frame and outside of the bed, and some writing on the back window.

Reports from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram suggest that authorities do not believe the blood belonged to Richard or was a result of the crash.

Following the incident, Richard was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence and was subsequently booked at the Lon Evans Corrections Center.

The statement from the sheriff’s office did not specify if there is any immediate danger to the public or clarify if there were any fatalities resulting from the incident. Additionally, it did not explicitly mention if Richard required medical attention after the crash.

Authorities have issued an appeal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the event.
