On Monday, two individuals were found dead under suspicious circumstances in separate incidents, one of which occurred near the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo 07.
Death Near BMICH
The first incident involved the discovery of a body near the BMICH in Colombo. The deceased, identified as a 39-year-old man from Rawathawatte in Moratuwa, was found early on Monday morning following a tip-off received by the Cinnamon Gardens Police.
After completing the necessary legal formalities, the body was handed over to the deceased’s relatives. The Cinnamon Gardens Police are currently conducting investigations into the suspicious death.
Death in Polpithigama
Meanwhile, another individual, a 53-year-old man from the Malasna area in Polpithigama, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a forest area close to Niyadhawanaya in Polpithigama.
According to police reports, the man had been reported missing for several days and was undergoing treatment for measles. The Polpithigama Police have initiated investigations into the case.
Both incidents have raised concerns in the respective communities, prompting authorities to expedite their investigations into the suspicious deaths.
