Aggravated UUW, DUI BAC over .08
Kreon J. Roberts, a 46-year-old resident of Crete, was arrested on April 7 and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC exceeding .08, improper parking on the roadway, and disregarding a traffic control device.
The arrest occurred at 7:46 PM when an officer observed a black SUV, identified as a 2017 Ford Explorer, parked in the left turn lane on Western Avenue at 26th Street. Despite a green arrow signal, the vehicle remained stationary, obstructing traffic flow. Upon approaching the SUV, the officer found the driver, later identified as Kreon J. Roberts, asleep at the wheel.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Mr. Roberts exhibited signs of intoxication, including bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech. A loaded firearm was also discovered in the vehicle, leading to additional charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Officers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, resulting in Mr. Roberts being arrested for DUI and weapons violations. A breath test indicated a BAC of .218, well above the legal limit. Mr. Roberts was scheduled to appear in court on April 8, 2024.

In a separate incident on April 9, police arrested Derrick L. Gulley, a 54-year-old Park Forest resident, on charges of domestic battery. The arrest followed reports of Mr. Gulley inappropriately touching a young teenage girl while she slept. Witnesses corroborated the allegations, leading to Mr. Gulley’s arrest.
Alleged Statements About Young Teen to Paramedics and Medical Staff
During his interaction with paramedics and medical personnel, Mr. Gulley reportedly made disturbing statements indicating a desire to engage in sexual activity with the teenager. His inappropriate behavior continued at the hospital, where he allegedly made lewd comments and engaged in inappropriate conduct.
