Accident – Death – Obituary News : A 34-year-old headteacher of a Zilla Parishad school has been apprehended by Latur police in connection with the purported leak of the NEET-UG paper, authorities announced on Monday.
In addition to the headteacher, a 40-year-old teacher from Solapur who also operates a private coaching class has been taken into custody as an accomplice.
The headteacher, identified as Jalil Khan Umar Khan Pathan, was taken into custody early on Monday, while his associate, Sanjay Jadhav, was detained later in the day. Superintendent of Police Somay Munde (Latur) confirmed the arrests, stating that the interrogation of the two suspects is ongoing to ascertain their involvement in the alleged crime and the extent of their financial gains from the operation.
Following revelations by ATS officials, a case was filed on Sunday under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code and The Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. Pathan, Jadhav, and two other fugitives, Iranna Kongalwar and Gangadhar, were implicated in the racket.
Kongalwar, an ITI instructor, and Gangadhar, who is believed to be based in Delhi, are suspected of collaborating with Jadhav and Pathan in the dissemination of exam-related information. Gangadhar is thought to be the mastermind behind the scheme.
A Special Investigation Team has been established to track down the absconding suspects and identify any other individuals involved in the illicit activities. The group is alleged to have been aiding candidates in clearing government examinations in exchange for monetary compensation.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has launched a criminal case and commenced an inquiry into the alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET-UG exam that took place on May 5. Authorities are working diligently to unravel the network of individuals connected to the mastermind behind the scam..
