Tampa Police have apprehended 29-year-old Andre Aris (B/M, 10/17/1994) in relation to the death of a 35-year-old man.

On June 21, 2024, around 11:54 a.m., officers were called to the 17000 block of Dona Michelle Drive following a report of a deceased individual. Upon arrival, they discovered a body in an advanced state of decomposition. A Florida Driver’s License found at the scene aided in positively identifying the victim.

Further investigation revealed that the victim had been living in his car, a red 2006 Dodge Charger, which was later found being driven by someone other than the deceased. Detectives established that the victim’s vehicle had been left parked at a residence on Madison Creek Drive, where Aris was apprehended on June 22, 2024.

Aris disclosed to detectives that he had met the victim a month prior and alleged that the victim had given him the Dodge Charger to sell. Despite initially claiming that the person who handed him the vehicle did not resemble the victim, evidence collected indicated that Aris was in possession of several of the victim’s photo ID cards.

In the vicinity of where the victim’s body was discovered, investigators executed a search warrant at a storage facility and a nearby hotel. Evidence gathered from these locations implicated Aris in the victim’s murder.

Consequently, Aris has been charged with One Felony Count of Murder in the First Degree and One Felony Count of Grand Theft Motor Vehicle. He is currently being held at Orient Road Jail.
