A tragic incident occurred on Monday at South Naperville Boulevard and Heatherfield Circle in Naperville, resulting in the death of a construction subcontractor. The 55-year-old victim, hailing from Addison, was struck by a 2007 Kia Portage driven by a 74-year-old woman from Mazon.

The accident took place around 10 a.m., and despite the efforts of Naperville police and firefighters who performed CPR at the scene, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

Naperville City Manager Doug Krieger expressed his condolences, stating, “First and foremost, our sincere thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the individual who passed away. The safety of our employees and contractors is our number one priority, and our focus now is on supporting our staff and our police department personnel as they conduct a thorough investigation into this tragedy.”

Following the incident, traffic crash investigators and reconstruction specialists closed the roadway until approximately 2:30 p.m. to conduct a thorough examination of the scene. The case remains under investigation, with anyone having information urged to contact the police department’s Traffic Unit at 630-420-8833.
