Donna Zile : “Dayton House Party Drive-By: 1 Dead, 6 Injured”

A devastating incident in Dayton has left one young woman dead. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Donna Zile by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

Additionally, an 18-year-old male is currently in serious, life-threatening condition as a result of the shooting, according to Assistant Chief Henderson.

The tragic drive-by shooting, which involved multiple weapons and vehicles, originated from a party held at a vacant house on Home Avenue.

Emergency crews, including homicide detectives, swiftly responded to the scene. Support was also provided by neighboring law enforcement agencies such as the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Trotwood Police Department, and Five Rivers MetroParks rangers.

Assistant Chief Henderson highlighted the concerning trend of large gatherings of juveniles and young adults at vacant houses in the area. This incident marks the third such occurrence since June 17.

A previous party resulted in a 16-year-old firing a rifle into a residence, with stolen vehicles later recovered. The potential for further violence is a major cause for alarm, as Henderson emphasized the need for community cooperation in preventing future tragedies.

While five other individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the incident, their injuries were not life-threatening, as confirmed by the police.

Authorities are actively pursuing all leads related to the shooting and seek the public’s assistance in the investigation.
