Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man from Dayton, Ohio, has recently been indicted for the murder of his mother in 2007. The Montgomery County Attorney’s Office revealed that Jeffrey Trent Young, aged 59, was charged by a grand jury with three counts related to the strangulation death of his mother, Patricia Peck. The charges include one count of murder, one count of felonious assault, and one count of tampering with evidence.

The tragic incident unfolded on Saturday, February 24, 2007, when Peck failed to show up for work at her hair salon, prompting concerns among her colleagues. Investigations revealed that she had visited her son the previous day, leading to suspicions surrounding Young. Subsequently, Peck’s vehicle was discovered in the parking lot of the now-demolished Dayton Airport Hotel on March 8, 2007, with her lifeless body found in the back seat.

Following a thorough examination, the coroner determined that Peck’s cause of death was strangulation, implicating Young as a prime suspect in the case. In 2023, the Dayton police’s cold case unit revisited the investigation and unearthed new evidence, including DNA evidence, which ultimately led to Young’s indictment.

Currently, Young is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a hefty $1 million bond as legal proceedings continue to unfold. The indictment represents a significant development in the long-standing case, shedding light on the events surrounding Peck’s tragic demise over a decade ago. This latest development serves as a reminder of the importance of diligence and perseverance in seeking justice for victims of heinous crimes..
