In a recent incident on Bailey Avenue in Buffalo, a 53-year-old woman was left wounded following a shooting. The Buffalo police have charged an 18-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
According to the authorities, the police were called to the 1600 block of Bailey Avenue around 3:20 p.m. A car had reportedly been shot at, with a 13-year-old girl and her mother inside. The vehicle sustained multiple gunshot wounds, as confirmed by the police.
During the police investigation at the scene, another distress call was received, stating that a woman had been shot inside her home near the initial shooting location. The woman, who was standing near her front window when the shots were fired, sustained injuries as a result.
The suspect, identified as Cecilia Medina and with no permanent address, was later apprehended on Shepard Street. Along with her arrest, the authorities also recovered a loaded Glock 17 with an extended magazine.
Medina is facing multiple charges, including second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault (two counts), second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree forgery, and false impersonation.
It was reported that Medina provided officers with a false last name during the initial encounter with law enforcement.
The 53-year-old victim of the shooting is currently receiving treatment at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) and is listed in stable condition.
