The Atlanta Police Department has made public body camera footage capturing the arrest of a county judge following an altercation with an officer, as reported by 11 Alive.
On June 20, a police officer, while working an approved extra job at a restaurant, intervened in a situation where commotion was heard nearby. The officer, along with security personnel, attempted to de-escalate the situation. However, 38-year-old Christina Peterson, a probate judge in Douglas County, interfered by aggressively confronting the security guard and the officer, as detailed in a news release by the Atlanta Police Department.
Peterson, identified as the female assailant, physically pushed the officer and obstructed his efforts to assist another individual being escorted out of the premises. Subsequently, she was taken into custody by law enforcement officers.
The body camera footage reveals Peterson seated in a police cruiser, where she directed profanities towards the officers and repeatedly refused to cooperate or provide identification. She was later transferred to Fulton County Jail and is now facing charges of battery against a police officer and felony obstruction of law enforcement.
