Woman Arrested in Olmsted County After Dead Body Found in Car
(ABC 6 News) – A woman has been taken into custody in Olmsted County after authorities discovered a deceased individual in the back of her vehicle, as reported by the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO).
The incident unfolded when emergency services responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 near the Highway 42 exit in Olmsted County early Saturday morning at around 7 a.m.
The driver of the car, identified as Margo Lewis, a 32-year-old woman of unspecified address, was outside the vehicle and receiving help from a passing motorist.
During a routine check to ensure no other occupants were in the car, authorities came across the lifeless body of a 35-year-old female in the back seat.
OCSO has indicated that the condition of the deceased raised suspicions, and it was evident that the death was not a result of the crash.
Following medical clearance at the hospital, Lewis was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center (ADC) where she was charged with interference with a dead body.
Lewis is scheduled to appear in court to address these charges on Tuesday, June 25.
The identity of the deceased individual is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
