Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The recent shooting incident near a Toledo bar earlier this month has left a 19-year-old woman critically injured, with no charges yet filed against the perpetrator. The victim is currently undergoing treatment in a local hospital, as confirmed by her family to 13 Action News.

Police bodycam footage, recently released to the public, captures the chaotic moments when the first Toledo Police Department officer arrived at the scene in a parking lot on Byrne Road and Dorr Street on June 8. The incident prompted a swift response from dozens of officers after receiving reports of shots fired.

The shooting took place in close proximity to Chasers Bar, with the bodycam footage showing a TPD officer scouring the area for the suspect. Despite their efforts, the search proved fruitless, leading the officer to seek descriptions of the shooter from other witnesses.

Conflicting descriptions emerged, with some witnesses alleging that the shooter resembled a police officer. The officer, taken aback, sought clarification on the identity of the shooter, only to be pointed at by a witness as the alleged perpetrator.

Multiple law enforcement agencies converged on the scene post-shooting, with the Ohio Investigative Unit and a security guard from IDER, a private security firm, witnessing the incident. The bodycam footage captures the TPD officer questioning the individuals present, inquiring about any firearm use.

Further investigation revealed shell casings scattered around the area and a vehicle containing firearms, similar to those described by the IDER security guard. While 23-year-old Tobin Triplett Jr. was identified as the shooter in the police report, no charges related to the shooting of the 19-year-old victim have been filed against him.

Triplett was subsequently charged with Resisting Arrest and Possession of Controlled Substances, both of varying degrees of severity. Following a court appearance on June 8, his bond was set at $1,500, with a scheduled court date on June 26.

Subsequent to the June 8 incident, another shooting occurred in the same parking lot on June 15, resulting in a 22-year-old man sustaining gunshot wounds. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with the authorities urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at (419) 255-1111.
