Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A man, identified as Gregorio Vincent Adams, is facing serious charges after allegedly using a broomstick to hit a 13-year-old girl and throwing rocks at responding officers from the Guam Police Department. The incident took place at a residence in Yigo, Guam.

Police Response

On Saturday, a Guam Police Department officer arrived at the scene and encountered Adams outside the residence with what appeared to be a butcher’s knife. Adams then proceeded to chase the officer, who instructed him to stop. Adams complied and ceased his actions.

Meanwhile, a woman informed the officers that she, along with the 13-year-old girl and other minors, had locked themselves inside the residence to protect themselves from Adams.

Violent Confrontation

Adams then picked up a metal rebar and approached the officer, who managed to restrain him. However, Adams continued to be aggressive and threw rocks at the officers, prompting them to take further action. Despite attempts to subdue Adams, including the use of a Taser, he remained combative.

According to the complaint, Adams threw multiple rocks towards the officers, one of which hit the woman’s car windshield. Adams yelled at the officers, refusing to comply with their instructions.

Medical Condition

Police suspected that Adams’ behaviour was influenced by a medical condition, as he had reportedly been off his medication. The woman at the scene confirmed that Adams required medication for his condition.

The 13-year-old girl reported that Adams had used a wooden stick to strike her legs, causing bruising. She stated that the attack was unprovoked.

Arrest and Charges

Despite attempts to read Adams his rights, he continued to be combative towards the officers. Due to his state of mind, it was evident that Adams was not in the right frame of mind during the incident.

As a result, Adams has been charged with aggravated assault, child abuse, criminal mischief, and three counts of assault on a peace officer, all as third-degree felonies. Additionally, he faces charges of resisting arrest as misdemeanours.
