Police in Salt Lake City have arrested a man in connection to the shooting death of a 30-year-old individual back in May 2024. Nay Blusoe, 21, was apprehended at the Salt Lake City International Airport on Sunday upon his return to the city. He faces charges of aggravated murder and obstruction of justice, according to the Salt Lake Police Department.
Following the identification of Blusoe as one of the shooters involved in the incident, detectives discovered that he had fled Utah and travelled to Detroit, Michigan. He was arrested at the airport by homicide detectives and officers from the Airport Division of SLCPD.
Blusoe’s arrest comes shortly after another suspect, Abdihakim Mohamed, 19, was also apprehended in connection to the same case. The victim, Nico Christopher Patino, lost his life in the shooting on May 26, and the investigation revealed that the incident involved multiple shooters both on foot and in a vehicle.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, and police have indicated that more arrests may follow as the investigation progresses. Authorities are urging anyone with information, including photos or videos related to the case, to come forward by contacting 801-799-3000 or submitting anonymous tips through the City Protect App, citing case number 24-113488.
