A student at Temple University in Philadelphia has been charged in connection with the death of another student in what police have described as a “domestic” incident.
Authorities responded to a medical emergency at a residence on the 1400 block of Willington Street in North Philadelphia early on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of 20-year-old Temple student Milan Jones on the second floor of the property. She had sustained blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect in the case has been identified as 21-year-old Tymir Lackey, who was apprehended by police at the scene. The incident is believed to have been of a domestic nature.
Lackey now faces charges of murder, recklessly endangering another person, and tampering with evidence. He was also a student at Temple University and has been placed on immediate suspension by the institution.
In a statement regarding the tragic incident, Temple University officials expressed their sorrow over the loss of Milan Jones. The young student was on the cusp of beginning her third year of studies in the nursing program at the College of Public Health.
“Milan was known for her caring nature and her commitment to helping others, qualities that made her a perfect fit for a career in nursing. Her future was bright, and her untimely passing has left us all devastated,” the university said.
Temple University reiterated its commitment to supporting those affected by domestic violence, offering resources such as the Wellness Resource Center, the university’s Title IX Coordinator, and the National Domestic Violence hotline.
