Accident – Death – Obituary News : Deputies in Riverside County made an arrest in connection with a homicide case in the early hours of Sunday morning following a pursuit. The incident unfolded in the 1600 block of Perris Boulevard around 12:15 a.m. after authorities received reports of an assault involving a deadly weapon. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to administer life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

A subsequent investigation led deputies to the suspect’s vehicle in Beaumont, with the assistance of an aviation unit, just before 1 a.m. Deputies along with officers from the Beaumont Police Department attempted to stop the suspect’s car, but the individual chose to evade capture, initiating a pursuit. The chase ensued into Hemet and finally concluded at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Acacia Avenue, where the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Ernesto Lopez Jr. from Moreno Valley, was apprehended.

Lopez Jr. was subsequently booked on charges of murder and felony evading. The victim’s identity is yet to be disclosed, and authorities have confirmed that there are no outstanding suspects in connection with the case.
