Two students arrested for allegedly electrocuting 15-year-old at Air Force Comprehensive School, Kaduna

Authorities have apprehended two students in connection with the tragic death of a 15-year-old student, Blaise Felix, at Air Force Comprehensive School in Kaduna. The victim, an orphan who lost his parents in 2013, was reportedly electrocuted in the school dormitory.

According to sources, the suspects, both Senior Secondary students (SS3), are currently in custody at undisclosed detention facilities. The incident took place within the Air Force Base in Mando, Kaduna, where Felix’s life was cut short.

The deceased’s body has been placed in the mortuary as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. While the Nigerian Air Force, which owns the school, has remained tight-lipped about the incident, an anonymous official confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway.

Details of the Tragic Event

Reports suggest that on June 19, 2024, the two SS3 students invited Felix to their room under the pretense of discipline, but the situation escalated, resulting in the fatal outcome. The Chairman of the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) alleged that Felix was subjected to punishment involving an illegal electrical connection in the room, leading to his electrocution.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force has launched an investigation into the incident, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the young student. Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the NAF spokesman, stated that Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar and the entire NAF family are saddened by the tragedy and are committed to uncovering the truth.

Family and School Community in Mourning

Felix, who leaves behind a twin brother in JSS2 at the same boarding school, was a promising student whose life was tragically cut short. The school community, as well as his family and friends, are mourning the loss and seeking justice for the senseless act that claimed his life.

The investigation into Felix’s death remains ongoing, with authorities dedicated to unravelling the circumstances that led to this heartbreaking incident. The NAF assures the public that they will leave no stone unturned in the quest for justice and accountability.
