Durga Bahadur Thapa : Elderly Man Killed in Syangja Bus Accident

On a fateful Sunday afternoon in Waling, Syangja district, tragedy struck as an elderly man lost his life after being struck by a bus. The incident took place in Mirdi, Waling Municipality-8 along the Siddhartha Highway. The bus involved in the accident was identified as Ga 1 Kha 6237, which was en route to Pokhara from Butwal.

The victim of this unfortunate incident has been identified as Durga Bahadur Thapa, an 81-year-old resident of Chinnebas, Biruwa Rural Municipality-6. Thapa, who was a passenger on the bus, was hit by the same bus while attempting to cross the road. The impact caused critical injuries to Thapa, prompting bystanders to rush him to the Waling Primary Health Center for urgent medical attention. Sadly, despite efforts to save him, Thapa succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the attending doctor.

Following the incident, the authorities swiftly took control of the bus driver involved in the accident. Indra Bahadur Rana, the information officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office in Syangja, provided details on the tragic event. The community in Waling and beyond mourns the loss of Thapa and offers condolences to his family and loved ones.
