Shirley Taylor : “Tragic Arkansas Shop Shooting Claims Fourth Life”

Authorities have confirmed that a fourth victim has tragically passed away following a horrific shooting incident at a store in the United States. The gunman opened fire, injuring nine individuals and causing chaos as panicked bystanders sought refuge from the violence.

The Arkansas state police revealed that the fatal shooting took place at the Mad Butcher grocery shop in Fordyce, located approximately 65 miles south of the state capital, Little Rock, at around 11:30 am local time on Friday.

Among the victims who lost their lives were Shirley Taylor, 62, Callie Weems, 23, Roy Sturgis, 50, and Ellen Shrum, 81, all of whom were civilians. The injured individuals, ranging in age from 20 to 65, included both civilians and law enforcement officers.

Four individuals remain hospitalized, with one woman in critical condition. Among the injured were Fordyce police officer James Johnson, 31, who has been discharged, and Stuttgart police officer John Hudson, 24, who sustained minor injuries.

The suspect, identified as Travis Eugene Posey, 44, of New Edinburg, will face four counts of capital murder. After exchanging gunfire with law enforcement officers, Posey received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries before being taken into custody.

Roderick Rogers, a member of the city council, recounted the chaos that ensued after the shooting. Employees at his nearby restaurant alerted him, prompting him to witness people fleeing in every direction, with some even seeking refuge at a nearby hospital.

Disturbing videos shared on social media captured the harrowing moments of the shooting, with one individual seen lying in the car park. Images from reporters on the scene showed numerous bullet holes in the shop’s windows and shell casings scattered across the parking lot.
