Accident – Death – Obituary News : A Texas woman has been charged with attempted capital murder and injury to a child after allegedly trying to drown a 3-year-old child at an apartment complex pool and making racial statements, according to police reports.

The incident, which occurred on May 19 at an apartment complex pool in Euless, Texas, involved a woman identified as Elizabeth Wolf, 42. Witnesses stated that Wolf, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, tried to drown the child and got into an argument with the child’s mother. The victim’s mother, who is Muslim and Palestinian, was wearing a hijab and modest swimwear at the time of the incident.

According to the Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Wolf questioned the mother about her background and made derogatory remarks about her nationality. The mother reported that Wolf attempted to grab her 6-year-old son, causing a scratch on his finger, before forcibly submerging her 3-year-old daughter underwater.

The mother was able to rescue her daughter from the water, but the child was left traumatized by the incident. Both children were examined by medical professionals and cleared of any serious injuries.

Following the incident, Wolf was arrested by Euless Police Department officers for public intoxication. She has since posted bail, with a bond set at $25,000 for the attempted capital murder charge and $15,000 for the injury to a child charge.

The CAIR has called for a hate crime investigation into the incident, citing the racial and Islamophobic nature of Wolf’s actions. They have also urged for a higher bail bond and increased awareness of the rise in Islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiment in the community.

Texas Representative Salman Bhojani has expressed shock and dismay over the incident, emphasizing that hate has no place in Euless or anywhere in the state. He commended the Euless PD for their swift action in apprehending the suspect and offered his support to the affected family.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to ensure the safety and well-being of the Muslim family involved in the disturbing incident. The community is coming together to condemn the act of violence and stand in solidarity against hate and discrimination..
