In Freeport, authorities are actively seeking one man following the arrest of two individuals connected to a recent report of multiple shots fired. The incident occurred on Friday, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Arrests Made in Connection to Shots Fired Report

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Friday, Freeport police received information regarding two suspects allegedly involved in a shots fired incident on W. Douglas Street earlier that day. The individuals, identified as Martell Pogue, aged 25, and Delovia Ford, aged 36, were reportedly linked to the incident.

Upon receiving this information, officers proceeded to a residence in the 1200 block of S. High Avenue, where both Pogue and Ford were located. While at the scene, Pogue attempted to flee in a vehicle, leading to a brief pursuit by law enforcement. Unfortunately, Pogue managed to evade capture during the chase.

During the subsequent investigation, Delovia Ford was taken into custody, and authorities discovered a firearm and approximately 300 grams of suspected cannabis at the residence. As a result, Ford is facing charges of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to distribute cannabis.

Additional Incident Unfolds

Later that evening, at approximately 5:30 p.m., law enforcement responded to a report of a fight in the 200 block of West Pleasant. Upon investigation, officers determined that the victim in this altercation was the same individual involved in the earlier shots fired incident on W. Douglas Street.

During the altercation, a 16-year-old male brandished a firearm and threatened the victim. The authorities swiftly apprehended the juvenile and recovered the weapon at the scene. The 16-year-old now faces charges of possession of a handgun by a person under 18, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (UUW), and aggravated assault with a firearm.
