Authorities in Houston, Texas are currently investigating a tragic hit-and-run incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday morning on a busy highway. The incident occurred at around 1:22 a.m. at the 10200 block of State Highway 99, where Harris County deputies responded to reports of a traffic accident.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a pedestrian lying in the roadway with no signs of life. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Darrell Thomas Jones. According to officials, Jones was walking from the north side of the highway to the south when he failed to yield the right of way to oncoming vehicles.
Although it remains unclear who struck Jones, investigators were able to recover parts from the suspect vehicle at the scene, providing crucial evidence for their ongoing investigation.
