Accident – Death – Obituary News : Chatfield, MN (KROC-AM News) – The Minnesota State Patrol has provided an update on the five-vehicle pileup that occurred on Friday afternoon on Highway 52 near Chatfield, revealing that only one person required transportation to a hospital.
The incident took place at around 1 PM at the intersection with a rural road approximately 2 miles northwest of Chatfield. According to the State Patrol, three vehicles were traveling southbound while two vehicles were heading north on Highway 52 when they collided near the junction with 130th Avenue Southeast.
The driver of a northbound pickup truck, identified as 58-year-old Timothy Majerus from Preston, was the sole individual transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Remarkably, he was the only driver involved in the crash who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The other four motorists involved in the incident, namely 21-year-old Reid Johnson and 19-year-old Cole Johnson from Chatfield, 19-year-old Zachary Starkson from Sargeant, and 41-year-old Brandon Albertson from Fort Atkinson, Iowa, were fortunately unharmed.
Alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the crash, and the State Patrol confirmed that the roadway was dry when the incident occurred.
