Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A 70-year-old seer of Ananda Mutt, located in the quaint village of Santhehalli in Malur taluk of Kolar district, was mercilessly bludgeoned to death in the early hours of Saturday. The heinous crime was allegedly committed by a rival group embroiled in a bitter property dispute with the victim.

The Malur police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police M. Narayana, swiftly apprehended the accused individuals who were attempting to flee to Kolkata. The suspects, identified as Arun Kumar (55), Dharma Pranavananda Swamy (45), and Praneshwarananda Swamy (48), had reportedly armed themselves with lathis before barging into the seer’s abode and launching a brutal assault.

The victim, known as Swami Chinmayananda, was caught off guard while in the restroom and had no chance to defend himself against the ruthless attackers. Despite being rushed to R.L. Jalappa hospital in a critical condition, Chinmayananda tragically succumbed to his injuries before being able to provide a statement to the authorities.

An initial investigation uncovered a long-standing civil dispute over the ownership and management of the mutt property and associated polytechnic institute as the primary motive behind the gruesome murder. This contentious issue had been mired in legal battles for several years, culminating in this tragic act of violence.

As news of the seer’s untimely demise spread throughout the village, a palpable sense of tension gripped the community, prompting the police to deploy additional security measures to maintain law and order. Despite the initial unrest, the situation has since been brought under control, with the accused individuals now in custody and all pertinent evidence, including digital records and weapons, seized for further scrutiny.
