Imran : “Tribal Woman Gang-Raped, Imran’s House Demolished”

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): The shanty belonging to one of the accused in the horrific gang-rape case in Ujjain was razed to the ground on Saturday in a joint operation carried out by the police and the local panchayat. The bulldozer has now set its sights on the residence of another accused involved in the heinous crime. This action comes in the aftermath of a brutal incident where a 20-year-old tribal woman was subjected to a traumatic gang-rape on a field in Tajpur, Ujjain.

The targeted house belonged to Imran, one of the accused, and was situated near the site of the crime. The demolition took place under heavy police presence, sending a stern message to perpetrators of such vile acts. The next target for demolition is the residence of another accused, identified as Ravi. Plans are also underway to bring down his dwelling in a bid to stamp out any remnants of criminal activity.

The harrowing incident unfolded on a fateful Wednesday when the young tribal woman from Dindori, accompanied by her husband, ventured to Indore in search of livelihood opportunities. After misplacing her mobile phone, the couple embarked on a train journey to Ujjain, where they crossed paths with certain individuals offering work. Their journey led them to Indira Nagar Square.

Ravi, riding a motorcycle, lured the couple with promises of employment and escorted them to a shed adjacent to a field in Tajpur. While the woman was asked to tidy up the shed, her husband was whisked away by Ravi on the pretext of fetching supplies. Seizing the opportunity, Imran arrived at the scene and committed the despicable act of raping the defenceless woman. Upon Ravi’s return to Tajpur, he too violated the woman after abandoning her husband in Ujjain.

In a stroke of bravery, the woman managed to break free from her assailants and sprinted approximately 1.5 kilometers to a quarry, where compassionate labourers came to her aid. Alerting the authorities, the labourers promptly contacted the police. The Panwasa police sprang into action, swiftly apprehending the culprits and ensuring the safety of the woman and her husband.

Two days following the abhorrent incident, law enforcement officials proceeded to demolish Imran’s abode along with the shed where the heinous crime transpired, symbolising a firm stance against such acts of barbarity.
